Repoman.com is now a Community Directory – but what is that?
Repoman.com was founded in 1995 during the infancy of the internet.
An advertising swap (late 1990s) with Professional Repossessor Magazine triggered awareness of the ground breaking internet listing service concept.
Companies began adding their information.
Historically groups like TFA, NFA, ARA, Allied, RSIG and eventually Prime were quite robust. The directories of each group were the primary options for clients to find Recovery Agencies.
I believe the Godfather of the Repo Industry was quoted as saying:
“If your company isn’t listed in ‘My Guide’… they do not exist.“
Repoman.com changed all that. Companies that were ‘Locked Out’ or ‘Priced Out’ of the group directories found a way to promote their company.
The Repoman.com discussion forums – which pre-dated social media became a central part of communication in the industry that had never existed before. The discussion forums created a ‘Community’ that still exists today – (RepoHQ on FB) – with over 8K subscribers.
Repoman.com has moved to a new directory format.
Dan Meeks is reintroducing the website with a complete make-over and new business plan.
Basic Listings in the directory will be free of charge and packed with features like:
- Website Link
- Company Logo
- Info Packet
- Insurance Certificate,
- Coverage Area Map
- Multiple Storage Lots
- Company Home Page (one-page website)
We appreciate all of our member companies and vendors over the last 30 years and look forward to continue serving the recovery industry community.
